Here's How YOU Can Help

Hi all!

Please let me introduce Aleah. She and i met during the pandemic while feeding the less fortunate. From day one Aleah impressed me with her willingness to help and her ability to spot a problem, and then her actions to solve said problem.
This time is no different.
Aleah is working on getting her Masters in Social Work at the UW Tacoma branch. This semester she is tasked with being the the liaison for families at a local school. The school she is placed at has an 89% need throughout the student body (and their families) for basic needs.

Here are some of the things they would GREATLY appreciate help in collecting for these families to have a good start to the school year...

Pantry Items: These are dried and canned goods. Cereal, pasta, and canned foods are always great to donate! Due to some families currently looking for housing, cans with easy open pull tab tops are extra appreciated.
If fresh/or frozen foods are what you want to donate, please coordinate this with Aleah first to ensure that proper food handling protocols can be observed and nothing goes to waste.

Clothing: New or used baby to adult; this includes shoes. If we could limit socks and underwear to new that would be amazing. Winter is fast approaching, Winter coats from infant to adult are desperately needed.

Supplies: School supplies- pens, crayons, paper, glue, scissors, you name it; they need it. Full-sized backpacks are also on this list.

Other: New items that could be used as presents, birthday/holiday cards, board games, books, sports equipment, and toiletries.

I will be collecting items at the office through October 8th.
